Greenpower Mobility - All-Energy Medium and Heavy-Duty Vehicles
Greenpower creates, builds and distributes a full suite of high-floor and low-floor all-electric heavy-duty and medium-duty vehicles. This includes transit buses and school buses, as cargo buses and shuttles.
EV Star is a zero-emission vehicle that offers a lot of customisation. It's also fully FTA certified and Buy America compliant. It comes with a world-class range and ADA wheelchair provisions. It also provides cargo delivery setups.
just click the up coming page produces a full line of high-floor as well as low-floor all-electric heavy-duty and medium-duty vehicles. Their flagship vehicle is the EV Star Cab & Chassis platform, which can be used to accommodate many different body designs and upgrades for a variety of applications. The design of the platform is based on a simple paper that allows for the best placement of the battery pack and a lower center of gravity. This leads to better range/payload ratios.
The EV Star REEFERX was developed for mid-to-last mile refrigerated deliveries as well as catering applications. The refrigerated trucks in class 4' one interior wall structure, and higher insulation than conventional trucks, allows for seamless sanitation and better temperature control. They also have a longer service life. The EV Star REEFERX provides superior cargo capacity and an industry leading payload to range ratio that is ideal for zero-emission goods and passenger transportation.
GreenPower has partnered with Perrone Robotics to up-fit the EV Star with their TONY (To Navigate You) autonomous vehicle system. This will allow fleets to seamlessly transition to autonomous vehicles. The AV Star is also capable of wireless charging up to 75 kW.
We were allowed to test drive the EV9 on a local highway for several hours. We found it to be easy to drive, and comfortable to drive for long distances. The ride is smooth on bumps and ruts, and the EV9 does a great job of reducing the sound of traffic and wind on the highway. The vehicle's acceleration is surprising quick, and it features adjustable regenerative brakes to enable "one-pedal driving" simply by lifting off the accelerator.
The EV9 has a great range and can be fully recharged in just three hours at home, or using any commercial charger. Drivers have the option of choosing between two modes of operation: eco mode and sports mode. Eco mode focuses on the power as well as cruise control and handling, while sport mode increases speed. Both are a lot of fun to drive and provide an experience unlike any other for anyone that has not driven an electric vehicle before.

In addition to the EV9, GreenPower has several other e-vehicle offerings including a multi-purpose electric mini bus, called the EV Star. The EV Star is ADA-compliant and can be used as executive shuttles, transit or microtransit vanpools, buses, and paratransit vehicles.
GreenPower produces approximately 10 EV Star busses a month for Jacksonville Transit Authority. The Jacksonville Transit Authority is replacing their fleet of diesel vehicles with 100 all-electric cars. With the Biden Administration looking to electrify school buses across the country, GreenPower plans on ramping up production to meet demand. Their EV Star buses are the first of their kind to be Altoona tested and FMVSS certified. They are Buy America compliant, and ADA certified. This means that they are eligible for federal transit assistance grants. Check back for updates as we follow the AV Star on its tour of demonstration later in the year. We will provide more information on this innovative EV.
